I’ve seen fall foliage in many parts of the world, but autumn in the Dolomites is on a whole different level. Heading straight up to Passo Giau on Day 1 sets the tone immediately—we captured dramatic clouds breaking over the peaks right at sunset. The scheduling was outstanding; getting us to the golden larches around Lake Federa via those off-road jeeps before dawn was a massive highlight, saving our legs for the actual shooting. Gabriele and Roksolyana are top-tier professionals who run a flawless operation. They don’t just take you to a spot; they teach you how to read the landscape. It was a deeply rewarding trip.

What really sold me on this tour was the 5-to-1 participant-to-guide ratio, and it completely lived up to the hype. Having both Gabriele and Roksolyana out on the field meant you never had to wait for technical help. Taking the 4×4 taxi up to the Cinque Torri trenches and then riding the historic cable car up Mount Lagazuoi (2,752 m) provided endless wide-angle compositions. Hands down the best workshop investment I’ve made.

The logistics on this tour are absolutely bulletproof. The hike to Cadini di Misurina was spectacular, followed by a beautiful stop at Lake Antorno where the fir trees reflect the Tre Cime massif. 4-star hotels, amazing alpine food, and zero wasted time.

Transitioning from the raw, jagged peaks of the Dolomites to the misty morning canals of Venice with local guides was spectacular.
