… and many other locations far from the usual tourist routes and often unknown, which you will discover during the journey!
On your first day in France, we’ll meet you at 2pm in the arrival hall of Marseilles airport (MRS).
Our tour operator will help you find the best solution for travel and will give you all the information you need to reach the meeting point.
Once together we will drive for approximately 1 hour to Manosque, where we’ll accomodate at our hotel, which will be our base for all the following days.
After lunch and some rest at the hotel, we will hold a briefing to prepare for the next shooting sessions.
We will leave the hotel in the late afternoon and take advantage of the best hours of light to shoot in the most beautiful lavender fields in the area.
Given the sunset time, it will not be possible to have dinner in the restaurants, which close quite early.
The dinners will therefore be all packed and will be organized every day in order to always have fresh products.
Our guides will however be available to satisfy any need of the participants.
After sunset we will be able to evaluate based on the weather conditions whether to stay in the field for a night photography session for Milky Way and Startrails or to return to the hotel to rest.
Each participant can decide independently whether to participate in the night photography session or return to the hotel.
Accommodation: Manosque
On the second day of your Photo Tour, we will start the day photographing at dawn in the lavender fields around Valensole, choosing as always the best according to our experience and the inspections that the tutors will do in the days preceding the workshop.
We have an exclusive map of over 80 lavender fields in the surroundings of the hotel and each time we will choose the best based on obtaining always different and interesting photographs in the various light conditions.
Before dawn our tutors will offer a quick breakfast and coffee to find the energy to photograph, and after dawn you will have the opportunity to have a full breakfast in our hotel.
After breakfast there will be a few hours to rest.
In the late morning to reach Roussillon.
Along the way we’ll visit some lavender distilleries in the area, to understand the process of cultivation, harvesting and preparation of all products derived from lavender.
Roussillon is counted among the most beautiful villages in France and it really is.
In this hamlet all the houses are all painted in different shades of ocher. One has the impression that the buildings merge with the nearby quarries, in a warm riot of colors.
These streets, the colors of the houses, the many ceramic shops, make this village a truly magical place.
Here we will have lunch and then visit the famous Sentiers des Ocres.
The path, in the center of which stands the majestic Luberon massif, is entirely covered with a thin and colorful powder, which gives the impression of being in a real Martian landscape.
The marvelous ocher colors of the Luberon were known since ancient times by the Romans but were extracted consistently only since the ‘700. This route will take you to visit the most beautiful spots to admire this marvel of nature.
After this wonderful visit we will drive to the abbey of Senanque, where we will also be able to visit the interiors with a nice interactive guided tour.
We will also photograph the exterior of the abbey, which appears on all the postcards of Provence.
For the sunset and the blue hour we will move to Gordes, where we will photograph this beautiful town from a very suggestive vantage point.
Dinner will once again be packed and after dinner each participant will be able to decide whether to participate in the eventual night photography session or whether to return to the hotel.
Accommodation: Manosque
As for the previous day, the first part of the day will be dedicated to photographing in the lavender fields at dawn, breakfast and rest at the hotel.
Lunch will be in a restaurant not far from the hotel and in the early afternoon we will move to the Colorado Provencal near Rustrel.
After lunch we will head to the Gorges du Verdon area, where we will spend most of the afternoon.
We will visit some typical villages like Moustiers-Sainte-Marie and Aiguines located near the Lake of Sainte-Croix, characterized by incredible turquoise waters.
We will drive along the panoramic road that runs along the Verdon canyon to admire and photograph this incredible panorama from above.
The Verdon Gorges are narrow and deep: from 250 to 700 meters deep, with a width ranging from 6 to 100 meters at the level of the Verdon river and from 200 to 1500 meters from one side to the other at the top of the gorge.
At sunset we will photograph the lavender fields in a new location different from the previous ones.
Each field of lavender has unique characteristics and is different from the others based on the orientation of the rows and the presence of interesting landscape elements such as huts, trees and bushes.
Dinner will once again be packed and after dinner each participant will be able to decide whether to participate in the eventual night photography session or whether to return to the hotel.
Accommodation: Manosque

ASK FOR PRIVATE COURSETestimonial - Lavender in Provence tourA photo workshop with Vista means taking home an exceptional experience. The assiduous presence of Gabriele with all the participants is superb, he advises framing, shooting techniques and how to read an image. Now when I look at a bad photo I know why it is. The post production knowledge using Lightroom and Photoshop is of an equally high standard. Vista is not only high-level in photography, but also in the organization of the trip. beginning with the selected locations to the times of day for shooting and the hotels chosen.
In conclusion, I don’t think I could find a better way to satisfy this passion and I recommend it to all experts and beginners. Thanks for teaching.
Testimonial - Lavender in Provence tourI participated in the trip to Provence at the end of June 2018. I accompanied my father who received the trip as a gift. The organization of the gift itself, thanks to the support of Gabriele, was quick and easy and my father did not have to deal with anything.
The shooting times are always exploited to the maximum and assisted by the constant support of the tutors in the field. Finally, the image review on the return from the shoots was always useful.
Beautiful packed lunches near the lavender fields.
Recommended to everyone!
Testimonial - Lavender in Provence tourI had participated as an escort in a trip in the Dolomites that made me want to try my hand at first hand.
I was not disappointed. The professionalism and sympathy of Gabriele have meant that, despite my little technical experience, I have been able to participate in all the shooting sections without feeling out of place … and then my desire to photograph has increased …
Testimonial - Lavender in Provence tourBeautiful workshop, well organized, which allowed us to photograph suggestive landscapes outside the usual tourist destinations and with the best lights. The tutors Gabriele manage to share their passion with sympathy and professionalism, providing useful and targeted advice based on the knowledge and equipment of each.
Testimonial - Lavender in Provence tourI’ve always postponed participation in this workshop, but now that I’ve participated, I bitterly regretted not having done it before.
In addition to the professionalism of the tutors and the perfection in the organization, also the landscapes and the locations have been really fantastic, they know in the colors that in the perfumes inside the fields of inn we frequented.
if I have to be honest, I conclude, to repeat.
Testimonial - Lavender in Provence tourBeautiful experience where I could compete with competent people but also very nice and helpful.
I liked the contact with nature and conviviality.
Definitely an experience to be repeated.
Testimonial - Lavender in Provence tourIt is the second trip I make with Vista and this too has been extremely enjoyable.
I can only confirm the remarkable organizational skills of the owners, as well as their solid knowledge of photographic technique and teaching skills.
As for the journey, Provence has some surprises in terms of landscape. In short, it is not just lavender fields, although these are quite evocative, especially if you experience colorful sunsets as they happened to us in those days.
Also for me it was also an opportunity to photograph at night, a fascinating novelty if you have never tried it.
In my opinion, the choice to go there a little before the canonical first fortnight of July is excellent, when you probably would have “elbed” a lot more with other photographers.
Testimonial - Lavender in Provence tourVery nice and stimulating journey! Useful to understand different shooting techniques and then post production. Well organized, as are all the others I have already attended. Surely I will repeat the experience with another photo journey!
Testimonial - Lavender in Provence tourBy now I’m fond of Vista, I feel I have more friendship than customer!
After participating in workshops in Ireland and Iceland I decided to participate in the trip to Provence … and it was like a good experience at other times.
Gabriele is a guarantee and this time too the company has been at the top. Location truly spectacular, full of colors and emotions. Also great for night-time!
I find the private group on Facebook very useful, created before the start and therefore allowing all the participants to be known in advance. After the trip we had the opportunity to insert the photos taken and to receive important post-production tips.
Until next time! I’m already booking another trip with you!
Testimonial - Lavender in Provence tourNot even the most incredible wave of heat and humidity in recent years can stop Vista!!
as always carefully chosen locations, organized so that they can be photographed with the best light.
I think that Gabriele Lorenzini and the whole team of Vista have no rivals regarding the organization of landscape photography workshops, from shooting on site to post in the classroom.
Testimonial - Lavender in Provence tourI had been wishing to see the lavender fields of Provence for years, and I jumped at the photo-course work-shop, confident that the trip would give me a great experience, given the previous ones. In fact, together with Gabriele we discovered, in addition to the colors of the lavender in bloom, the fantastic colors of ocher, and much more. And also from this ws I returned home enriched with technical knowledge and little tricks that Gabriele gave me once again with passion, experience and availability. Thanks photo-courses, see you next time
Testimonial - Lavender in Provence tourAfter so many years of generic landscape photography, I wanted to explore some of the most significant aspects of this vast photographic world for me. Thanks to Gabriele’s advice I learned things that are really useful and interesting in modern digital photography. The teaching of Gabriele is really valid and, with photographic bases already tested for a long time, it is not hard to learn new methods from him.
Testimonial - Lavender in Provence tourBeautiful experience! Excellent professionalism of the teacher and fantastic travel group. Definitely to be redone!
Testimonial - Lavender in Provence tourFantastic organization, demanding but available organizers. Nice meeting in the discussion room of the photos taken. Places chosen for the very evocative shooting. I will gladly return for other experiences together.
Absolutely to be repeated.
Testimonial - Lavender in Provence tourVery pleasant workshop, great rhythm, many very varied visited places, all well organized.
Testimonial - Lavender in Provence tourAn interesting, instructive, photographically speaking, and fun journey. Good organization and efficient logistics.
Testimonial - Lavender in Provence tourCongratulations on your seriousness and professionalism.F
