OUR PARTNERS FOR THIS TOUR
We know perfectly how to make your tour a unique experience in total tranquility and security.
Only Fortune? Maybe, but also a lot of organization, flexibility and knowledge of the territory.
It is better to start with those who have great experience and are prepared to face any eventuality.
Our photo guides will be constantly by your side on the field, advising you at any time on the best settings to capture the best of the Aurora Borealis, the dawns and the arctic sunsets.
You will avoid long transfers and always stay close to the locations chosen for the sunrise and sunset shots.
Several weeks before departure we will give you all the useful information and we will be available at any time for advice on equipment or clothing.
On your first day in Norway, you will arrive at Harstad/Narvik (EVE) Airport. We will be waiting for you in the arrival hall and will take you to the hotel near the airport.
We’ll be available from 10 am to 11 pm.
Once at the hotel, we will get to know each other and review the itinerary of the journey ahead of us.
You’ll also have the chance to take the first photos in the surroundings, which offer nice views of the fjords right in front of our hotel.
Accommodation: Evenes (Hotel)
On the first real day of our tour we will go out to photograph the sunrise in a beautiful location near the hotel.
Given that the time of dawn during this period is about 9 am, we will have the opportunity to have breakfast before leaving the hotel.
After photographing the sunrise we will continue our journey westward through the Lofoten islands, arriving at Svolvaer in the early afternoon.
In the afternoon and sunset we will photograph the picturesque village of Henningsvaer, also known as the “Venice of Lofoten” and its lighthouse, located near the famous soccer field, one of the strangest in the world.
After a great day of shooting fantastic scenery, we’ll accommodate you at a hotel and have dinner at a nearby restaurant in Svolvaer city centre.
During the evening hours we’ll be vigilant and ready to shoot in case there should be a Northern Lights display.
Accommodation: Svolvaer (Rorbu)
Also on the third day of our tour we will have the opportunity to have breakfast at the hotel before going out to photograph the sunrise on the beautiful beach of Gimsoy with its small white church.
After shooting at dawn we will head towards the village of Reine, and more precisely to Hamnoya, where we will stay for 3 nights in the famous red rorbu on the fjord.
This location will be the ideal starting point for the following days’ trips to the most interesting photographic locations in the area.
Every day we will choose the best location based on weather conditions, tides and light conditions.
The village of Hamnoya is already in itself a fantastic location that allows you to take pictures at any time of day, both day and night.
During the days we will spend in Hamnoya we will stay in the rorbu, where we will have a kitchen.
Breakfasts will be prepared by ourselves and our guides are available to help you cook if necessary.
In the village there is also a restaurant and everyone will be free to organize as they wish.
During the evening hours we’ll be vigilant and ready to shoot in case there should be a Northern Lights display.
Accommodation: Hamnoya – Reine (Rorbu)
After dawn in the famous village of Reine, we will move to A, the city with the shortest name in the world!
A is the southernmost village of the Lofoten Islands: here the road ends and you can spend some time walking around this small, very nice and photogenic fishing village.
As our travel progresses we will constantly be following and seeking the best possible light. Sunrise and sunset are particularly recommended for photographing Lofoten Islands, the low light plays beautifully over this epic mountain.
In the afternoon we will move to the beach of Yttersand or Ytresand, where the tide draws magnificent texutre on the sand and the mountains in the background make the landscape truly spectacular.
During the evening hours we’ll be vigilant and ready to shoot in case there should be a Northern Lights display.
Accommodation: Hamnoya – Reine (Rorbu)
We will spend another wonderful day in the Lofoten islands, moving to the best locations in the area based on the conditions we meet.
After the sunrise photos in the Flakstadpollen fjord, we will visit the village of Nusfjord.
At sunset we will photograph the beach of Skagsanden, one of the most famous in the area, where you can also find beautiful rocks and pools that allow you to take pictures for hours.
During the evening hours we’ll be vigilant and ready to shoot in case there should be a Northern Lights display.
Accommodation: Hamnoya – Reine (Rorbu)
On the sixth day of our tour we will photograph for the last time the sunrise in the area of Reine, then we will photograph Ramberg beach and then we will move with a short 1 hour drive to the city of Leknes, from which we will leave to explore the best location of the surroundings.
In the afternoon we will photograph the most famous beaches in the area, including Uttakleiv Beach and Haukland Beach.
During the evening hours we’ll be vigilant and ready to shoot in case there should be a Northern Lights display.
Accommodation: Leknes (Hotel)
We will photograph at dawn on the beach of Unstad, also famous for the surfers who populate it even in the winter months.
Then we will start moving eastwards back to Evenes airport.
During the drive we will choose the best locations for some photo stops and for the sunset.
We will arrive at the hotel near the airport in the evening, where we can get ready for the next day’s return flight.
During the evening hours we’ll be vigilant and ready to shoot in case there should be a Northern Lights display.
Accommodation: Evenes (Hotel)
Your very last day, we will take you from the hotel to Harstad/Narvik (EVE) Airport for your return flight. Taking with you memories and photographs from an unforgettable adventure.
The meeting point is at Hardstad/Narvik airport (EVE).
We will be waiting for you in the arrival hall and will take you to the hotel near the airport.

Professional photographer specializing in travel and landscape
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourWonderful Lofoten Islands. An exciting tour in the North, among fjords, mountains, snow, ice and unforgettable auroras. Careful, precise and absolutely perfect organization allowed us to photograph all the best locations. Vista guides, our teachers / photo guides / companions / friends always available for information, advice, photographic support and general organization.
An unforgettable tour.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourIncredible travel! One thing is certain: I will never forget these 7 days spent in Lofoten Islands with the Vista staff. The weather was kind to us; 5 nights out of 7 we were able to witness the incredible phenomenon of the Aurora Borealis (on 3 occasions the phenomenon was very intense), an incredible snowfall preceded our arrival making the landscape even more enchanted, exceptional light situations accompanied dawns and sunsets. Well what about Vista guides? It is the 4th time that I have hung out with them and they are confirmed by availability, seriousness, preparation and professionalism. They are ready for any unforeseen eventuality or circumstance which ensures the success of their trips / workshops. In short, all the right ingredients to have a fantastic experience! I can’t help but thank them and think to the next photo tour with Vista.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourThis was my second travel with Vista and what can i say, a tour beyond expectations. Vista guides’s preparation and in-depth knowledge of the area allowed us to immortalise dawns and sunsets in the best locations. The professionalism of both allowed us to improve our photographic skills by refining our shooting techniques and post production.
The tour was structured to enable us to shoot at the best moments of the day, nothing was left to chance.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourThis was my first photographic travel with Vista. I can only say that it will not be the last because I found in Gabriele Lorenzini competence, preparation, availability and passion, in the organization effective in the choice of the structures and in the solutions of travel / transport, very nice companions of adventure, all in a natural setting nothing short of magical. In this regard, in fact, we add the fantastic locations chosen by Gabriele for the “daytime” sessions that more than compensated for that bit of bad luck that did not allow us to fully enjoy the spectacle of the northern lights. In summary, a perfect travel.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourSimply perfect! Caught 5 aurora out of 7 (and it’s professionalism, not luck), adaptation of the programs according to the climatic conditions, according to the needs of the group, great knowledge of the places… in short, a just cocktail not to return empty handed.
And now it’s time to start thinking to the next appointment…
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourFantastic experience from every point of view! First photographic trip with Vista definitely worth repeating! Organization with attention to detail and great competence and professionalism of Vista guides, always ready and willing to handle any aspect! Both the locations and all the movements have been chosen with great care and attention, making them always perfect places for the needs of the moment! A great experience that remains impressed both by the strong passion for photography transmitted by photo guides and by the perfection of the whole organization itself!
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourAfter Iceland seeing the Lofoten Islands was a must… and as always the organization of Vista has not disappointed: impeccable.
The locations proposed for photographing sunrises, sunsets and dawns have been nothing short of spectacular.
The ever-present support of the two professors Vista guides makes you feel comfortable that you will be able to bring home some great shots. The group turned out to be excellent, even if heterogeneous, all of them always ready to send a message and to dispense useful advice.
See you soon… maybe in Lapland? 😉
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourVery well organized tour. Seen incredibly beautiful landscapes and above all in 7 days. I could watch 5 auroras! Of which three incredibly beautiful and exciting! That magic of nature, the dawn, which must be seen at least once in life.
Vista guides di Vista very kind and helpful.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourFor the third time I faced the trip with Vista guides, great friends, great traveling companions!
And what I tell you to do… it was all magnificent, impeccable as always by the organization until the return!
In life you always have to make the right choices: I finally found those who take me to the most beautiful places in the world and photograph the best sunrises, the best sunsets and the best auroras!
Happy to be able to share my emotions with Vista!
P.S. I saw 6 auroras in 6 days: Vista brings so much luck!
A hug to everyone… see you at the next tour!
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourA very positive experience, Gabriele was always kind and helpful in helping each of us. Lovely places and despite the not always favorable weather conditions, I managed to take home some beautiful shots, thanks above all to the locations chosen by Gabriele from time to time. Overall satisfied!
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourI recommend to all photography lovers the team of Vista, Vista guides are great professionals and exquisite people, always available to give advice and improve the technique and sensitivity in the photo shoot. In the specific course, in the face of obvious meteorological adversities, however, 4 were made to offer us the possibility of taking photographs at any time available in the best scenarios that the islands can offer.
One thing is for sure, even if Bologna is 300km away from my house, any future course I will attend will be solely with Vista! thanks Vista guides !!!
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourVista is now for me a synonym of guarantee. The organization of the stages is always apt to optimize the times, always arriving well in advance in the locations, bringing out even more the incredible landscape and the natural wonders that the Lofoten Islands offer. A particular mention goes to Vista guides who are constantly present both before and during the tour and ready to help us in any eventuality.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourUnique experience!! Seeing the aurora borealis has always been a dream of mine, a big thank you goes to Vista guides who with their preparation and experience have taught me to photograph it at its best !!!
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourFabulous tour, unforgettable and to be redone.
All locations are chosen with a care that reveals the passion for photography of Vista guides, as well as the meticulousness that lies behind the organization of the whole tour. The very choice of the locations, then, adapts to the light conditions allowing us to make the most of every moment.
Even the accommodations are carefully selected: we slept almost every night in the characteristic red fishermen’s houses, in a splendid environment.
The team of Vista, then, is always available whether it is a board during shooting or a laugh.
At the top, the didactic material shared before the tour and the support and the review of the photographs upon return from the tour itself. You learn so much.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourA tour with Vista guides in these countries is always a guarantee of organization and efficiency, despite the fact that overall the weather has not been splendid, in the end we have succeeded, given the results, in producing good and some excellent shots. So the travel was a success in every sense. The brilliant and great fun comrades and this said to me that by now I am always the oldest of the group. Thank you all.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourThe experience I had on the Lofoten Islands will remain inside me forever. Breathtaking landscapes between sunrise and sunset. In the evening then it is forbidden to sleep because there is a show unique in the world, the aurora borealis! A word to summarize everything? FANTASTIC
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourVista is a guarantee! also this photographic travel was perfectly organized; at a very competitive price I was able to visit beautiful places at the best times and with the best lighting conditions, I was able to stay in a characteristic Rorbu in Reine, plus I was able to enjoy the competence, professionalism and friendliness of Vista guides.
You can’t ask for better!
highly recommended !!
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourAn exciting travel that allowed us to see the natural spectacle of the Northern Lights for 5 times. Professional teachers and willing to give directions.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourThis tour to Lofoten was my first experience with Vista, and it certainly won’t be the last, what to say, perfect organization, Vista guides constantly follow all the participants with advice on techniques and composition.
The locations are beautiful and the movements designed to always be in the best places with the best possible light.
In a nutshell, thanks for the fantastic experience, see you soon.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourTrip organized in a commendable way, nothing left to chance – as usual.
Vista guides, as usual, always available and ready to help.
Too bad the aurora has been desired
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourWe met Gabriele last year on a beautiful tour to Morocco where we appreciated his organization and professionalism (as well as his great sympathy!). We wanted to replicate this year by going to Lofoten to hunt for Northern Lights and Northern Lights. Thanks to the careful guidance of Vista guides, we were able to improve our landscape photography techniques and live a fantastic experience! Excellent organization, doc location, fun company.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourWonderful tour! The impeccable organization, Vista guides proved to be two very competent and helpful professionals, and obviously very nice! The tour was very well organized in every detail, the choice of places apt. As a first experience with Vista, I still have a wonderful memory and many tips that I will treasure.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourThe Lofoten islands in the winter are beautiful regardless of the northern lights.
A well-organized photographic travel enhances its beauty even more.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourMy first ever photographic tour, a perfect choice, to rely on you. Perfect in everything. Excellent professionalism and organization, in the preparation for the tour thanks to clear answers and indications on what to bring and how to prepare and during the tour everything had been organized in detail even the choice of the perfect location. An experience to do that I recommend to everyone, this thanks to those who with sympathy and professionalism managed to make my tour unforgettable. I can’t wait to leave with you soon.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourBeautiful experience. I love this type of travel focused on photography, because they allow you to live a unique experience, to appreciate the landscape in a more refined way, capturing its variations and nuances with different light conditions. Vista guides are very good and always available for any question on photography. To do for all lovers of photography and spectacular landscapes.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourEven from a non-habitual landscape photo, I was able to better appreciate the natural corners these islands offer. Spectacular and sophisticated locations that offer many photographic opportunities even in unfavorable light conditions then the magic of aurora does the rest. Photo guides who are very prepared, always attentive to the needs of everyone with their own different bases, without never being too heavy, wide-ranging photographic sessions especially when the conditions have deserved.
Beautiful is the group that has formed that in addition to the shots has shared funny moments and great collaboration.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourLike Iceland, Norway, and especially the Lofoten Islands, know how to “bewitch” the photographer’s eye, offering insights, glimpses and endless shooting possibilities. The organization was excellent, as was the company… A little less the weather, despite which we were able to capture the beautiful Norwegian landscapes and the Northern Lights and still bring good memories and good photos. Until next time! =)
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourMy expectations were fully satisfied, the aurora, which was the main reason why I decided to make this tour, was shown for two consecutive nights, breathtaking views and organization helped make the week special, without forgetting the availability that Vista guides have shown as usual.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourThis is the second photographic journey with Vista, as well as some photographic workshops in Italy, in which I had the chance to be at the side of Vista guides, the professional photographers protagonists of this tour.
Also this time it turned out to be a wonderful experience in all respects. Their availability and professionalism, their advice have allowed me to learn a lot and improve my landscape photographs more and more.
To this we add also the punctual knowledge of the places, of the possible alternatives, the precise organization of the whole and not least the sympathy, for which my judgment can only be enthusiast.
Good guys. Until next time! In a few months ?
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourAfter 2 workshops in Italy and a photographic journey abroad (Lofoten Islands) the time has come to express an opinion on Vista and in particular on their guides. Certainly I will not go looking for alternatives for the next photographic trips, given that for me they are now synonymous with guarantee. My trust has earned them in the field because besides being very technically prepared and organizing the various shooting sessions (the idea of reserve is never lacking) they are also very nice, managing to create a climate of absolute relaxation and relaxation. (we really have fun). They are also lucky, at least as far as I’m concerned, since 6 nights and 6 auroras are the top me for me
Come on guys …… see you soon.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tourInteresting journey, the place is very photogenic, the Lofoten are a great subject with many ideas for landscape photos, the photo guides are prepared and always available to give tips given their knowledge and skills. The group travel formula allows you to get to know many people with common interests.
Testimonial - Northern Lights in Lofoten tour… Journey to make.
What can I add two “perfect companions”, always present and dispensers of advice and suggestions. The aurora can be photographed even by newbies this Workshop proves it and take fantastic photos home.
… and then with a nice group.
